Strive for excellence and expertise
Knowledge Creation delivers professional development that intentionally incorporates cultural intelligence into every aspect of our practice. We recognise that effective learning and organisational growth occur when diverse identities, perspectives, and contexts are acknowledged and valued. Our PD integrates culturally responsive frameworks that are inclusive of a Te Ao Māori worldview, inclusive facilitation strategies, and reflective practice to ensure content is relevant, respectful, and adaptable to the unique communities we serve. By embedding cultural intelligence into delivery, we support schools, early childhood services, businesses, and organisations to build stronger relationships, foster inclusive environments, and achieve sustainable, culturally informed outcomes.
Ako Series - Early Childhood Services
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari he toa takitini.
I come not with my own strengths but bring with me the gifts, talents and strengths of my family, tribe and ancestors.
All tamariki are born with their own mana and immense potential, each destined to travel a unique journey. Tamariki learn and develop best when their culture, knowledge and community are affirmed and when the people in their lives help them to make connections across settings. As educators, our role is to nurture and grow their mana and build a strong foundation that may develop their desire for lifelong learning. Early childhood education has a crucial role to play in providing tamariki and mokopuna with culturally responsive environments that support their learning and by ensuring that they are provided with equitable opportunities to learn and have quality life outcomes.

Titiro whakamuri kia anga whakamua.
Look to the past in order to move forward.
Learning is a journey that begins before birth and continues throughout life. Each part of the education system has a responsibility for supporting children (and the adults they become) on this lifelong journey of exploration. Kaiako and teachers support children by affirming their identity and culture, connecting with and building on their funds of knowledge and having positive expectations for their learning.
Quote: “Effective teachers foster positive relationships within environments that are caring, inclusive, non-discriminatory, and cohesive” (The NZ Curriculum, 2007, p.34)

He pai te tirohanga ki ngā mahara mō ngā rā kua pahure engari ka puta te māramatanga i runga i te titiro whakamua.
It’s fine to have recollections of the past, but wisdom comes from being able to prepare opportunities for the future.
The focus of our mahi is to support Maori development, guided by a firm committment to honour Te Whakaputanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and our committment to the principles embedded in these documents.
We bring our commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi to life by ensuring we recognise and support Māori aspirations and values in our work, including:
Tino rangatiratanga, concepts of self-determination, self-reliance and the desire to be in control of one’s vision and destiny
Manaakitanga, the acknowledgment of the mana of others and demonstrating mutual respect
Kotahitanga and mahi tahi, concepts of unity and working as one
Motuhaketanga, concepts of independence, autonomy and supporting self-reliance
Whakawhanaungatanga, concepts of collective wellbeing and relating well to others.
The ability to create new knowledge is often at the heart of the organization's competitive advantage.
Expand your knowledge by expanding your community. When we work with community and organisations our priority is to serve, honour and collaborate with community organisations that are: strongly connected to the communities they serve, who understand the needs and aspirations of their community, and who are working to achieve the outcomes that the community values most. Our Kaupapa is that we work with.
shared local aspirations to drive action and change
use existing strengths and assets
Synergise people and groups working together
Build and maintain mana enhancing local leadership
Succession planning and action informed by outcomes.

At a corporate level we support organisations to strengthen cultural capability by moving beyond basic cultural awareness toward meaningful cultural competence and cultural intelligence. Our work provides tailored advisory services, professional learning, and strategic guidance that help organisations understand and apply Te Ao Māori (the Māori worldview) in practical ways. Through workshops, cultural supervision and leadership coaching, resource development, we support teams to build respectful relationships with Māori communities, embed manaakitanga (care and respect) in organisational practice, and uphold kaitiakitanga (responsible stewardship) in decision-making. This approach enables organisations to operate with cultural integrity while building stronger partnerships with iwi, hapū, and communities across Aotearoa.
